Hello,
Configure fails on Ubuntu 16_04 with:

checking for GTK - version >= 3.14.0... configure: error: old version detected

The strange thing is, I have GTK version 3.18 installed. I can find no reference to gtk 3.14 on my system.

I'm suffering this issue as well -- I have gtk 3.24 installed. Even tried with GTK4 and no go. Am on NixOS but have a development shell working fine. Am definitely confused.
