Reddit changelog (https://old.reddit.com/r/reddit/comments/xvjf3j/changelog_live_chat_update_intuitive_post_type/)
Many Android users are currently experiencing an error when they try to open links within their Reddit app. In order to fix this error, we will be removing the “Open web links in-app” option from Settings. Links will then default to opening in Chrome custom tabs—if Chrome isn’t available, they'll default to opening in a browser window within the app.

They won't return it (Reddit admin)
This app setting was removed along with the recent rollout of version 2022.38.0 of our Android app and will not be available in future versions of the official Reddit app for Android.

Most likely the real reason
https://www.reddit.com/r/redditmobile/comments/y6etld/android2022380607460_suddenly_cant_open_links/itahe1n/
They fixed the bug. The bug was their marketing people were missing a bunch of data from people that opened links outside the app. They fixed that by redirecting links through a tracking proxy. That was a problem though because the compute power to manage tracking every link that way is almost as expensive (or maybe more expensive) than the price they can sell the data for. So they removed it.

My request is this

  1. Please add 2022.37.0 patched base.
  2. Let's figure out if it's possible to add the feature back. Maybe @nightznero can help as i've been using his out.reddit.com removed patched APK for while. That's why i am 2 month late on this lame Reddit update.

Thank you very much for being open to help.
I was actually reading this and when i saw 1 comment checkmark i was kinda afraid to open it because i thought you're about to close this :P. Relieved :)

Anyways, there are hundreds of people complaining about this. I am kinda tired but there are many more threads than these.

I'll look around and see if i can find some more RCE people with same contempt for craps like this so we can help each other. This is probably the best i can do since i don't know anything about reversing android apps.

I was having same issue and after reading Reddit Mod reply I was like shit they are now tracking everything even lots of people complain about it and they don't want to bring it back.

I tried to patch latest v2022.45.0 using Revanced Manager but current patches v2.153.0 don't support latest reddit version right now.

As you've asked for v2022.37.0 as base but I'm using v2022.35.1 from assets and it's still working perfectly.
