Make generic by taking a parameter for the text prompt, and allow passing progress via stdin.
Then reuse on the the chimera tweaks download splash screen.

Could use a similar approach as the password prompt or splashscreen. A simple template change should be all that is needed.

This doesn't appear to work with Gamepad UI. The download appears to happen during the Gamepad UI loading screen.
I think this is actually fine that way.

REading this again. Should we just drop the feature? Would seem odd to add a ChimeraOS splash in the middle of a game launching.

I think the message is general should be updated because a lot of people get confused thinking it actually is downloading updates every boot.

I think you misunderstood the issue. This refers to the download of Proton-GE versions on first game run. Not the download of configuration updates at every boot.

I guess it can be closed.
