I also have a similar problem.
The version number of the client I installed is 1.0.219, and the operating system is macOS 12.7.6.

This is happening to me too.

Same version 1.0.219 on Windows 11. I am shelling into a Linux VM and everything works fine for a while, but at some random point, opening up vim will cause the entire Tabby interface to freeze. This is happening consistently. Only started yesterday. Was working fine before. Only solution is to kill Tabby and relaunch.

I will try to downgrade and see if this solves it.

I have validated (at least on my laptop) that this occurs on version 1.0.219, 1.0.218 and 1.0.217. I am currently running 1.0.216 and the problem has not occurred.

This is happening to me to.

Save version 1.0.219 on Windows 11

Downgrading to 1.0.216 seems to work. Been on it all day without issue. You may want to do that until a fix is available.

This phenomenon can be steadily repeated at 1.0.219

Same here with Linux Mint 21.2 Cinnamon and 1.0.219. Initially vi works but after one or two sessions the Tabby window disappears and does not show any more no matter what. Regular ways of closing the Tabby window do not work after that. Downgrading to an older version that I have used for a while everything works fine. Disabling hardware acceleration does not help. Thank you!

Same here with v 1.0.219, on Zorin OS (Ubuntu)

I guess the issue is related to the new ssh backend.
