@abdidarmawan007 Crossfire and Ghost are in the process of getting support for ETHOS...but I don't know about other modules like MPM

I have to ask this: What about TBS locking out FrSky from their Tango2?

TBS module support is planned, we just have more urgent work to do before, especially Lua scripts support!

TBS module support is planned ...

Is there anything new about this yet?

Also, whether there will be an SBUS output on the module port besides PPM (currently), CRSF (soon). I would like to operate a Dragonlink there.

Seriously? you bought an X20 even knowing TBS Xfire support will be not there? hmmmm.
Ethos is brand new and basic stuff is just starting to get shape.. and you expected to have 3rd party device support already?
Just be patient, it will come eventually, more important stuf to get Ethos even ready for 3rd party stuff has more priority i am sure you can understand that right?!
There are many many many more stuff to get right first.

Getting LUA is much more important.

PD5DJ commented Aug 5, 2021

The whole point is that you are now angry because you bought something where you knew beforehand that there was no support for crossfire at the time of purchase.
And that you now blame someone else, that your wish is not fulfilled is just not real.
Since it has been said "somewhere" that it is "possibly" being worked on in the future, this should already have been a signal for you not to buy it now.
You should have just waited, then the disappointment was probably just not that great.
Blaming others, that really makes no sense. That's the world upside down.

I would indeed send it back in your case, and wait until Crossfire is ever supported.

@andika207

I'm not stupid dont treat me as if I am.

@fyad88 so you didn't realize it wasn't TBS capable so far but you do know how to find a TBS related issue on github ?
meanwhile others are patiently waiting for the HD version or LUA scripts to come out but they dont show up on github crying out loud.
of course you are a stupid troll.
sell it, toss it out the window or do whatever you want, Frsky won't miss you.
it's your own problem if you have already sold (whatever you did) your old transmitter

@LordGeorge-1992

Very interested to see when Frsky are planning to spill the roadmap on crossfire support.
Lua seems like it’s only a matter of time now.

There will be allot of people, including myself that are holding back purchasing a X20/s/HD until support is established. I can’t wait, however it’s pointless purchasing something you can’t use.
Do you have a eta at all Frsky ?

You can run your crossfire on ppm until serial is ready. I wouldn't count on it being added unless someone from the community finds it in their heart to do it. Like when frsky switched to the slow inverters in the X line of transmitters to break crossfire functionality. Only to hurt their own speeds of the r9 system. Requiring new access transmitters. It will take someone in the community to make a fix. Ppm will get you what you need and you can use the crossfires wifi and an esp8266 like the esp-12s or esp-12e to get mavlink telemetry on a tracker. Or you can go direct to crossfire to display telemetry on a phone, tablet, or pc. There is always a work around.

Really good looking radio and almost pulled the trigger until I read there is no crsf, ghost, and express lrs support. Hopefully once the the lua scripts get worked on the customers will get the features. Keep up the hard work and I will definitely check back later. Again, great looking radio.

Hi
I am reopening this since 1.1 is out and Lua most likely working.
Can we have a roadmap for external protocols support please?
Keep in mind that it was one of the features that was present on the original product description and is a major selling point for lot of us as Expresslrs and crossfire is widely present on the multirotor community.

I am also discouraged from using Ethos by the lack of support for SBUS and CRSF. LUA is available now, then these things should be implemented. No one expects it overnight, but TBS and others provided FrSky with appropriate hardware for implementation over a year ago.

As I see it, FrSky does not have to write LUA scripts for other hardware, but without the implementation of CRSF and SBUS on the module port, nothing can be done properly. PPM is very old and Ethos should be more advanced ...

Just wanted to express my concern and desire for multiprotocol support over serial. This is the only thing keeping me from switching entirely to the x20S and letting go of my Spektrum radio.

I did read the Vantac module has a 64 kb controller and is built upon counterfeit chips unlike the IRX4 (128 kb)
I have not found any FCC ID associated to this module so it's tecnically not legal to use in europe either

Where exactly did you read this?

@OldGazer
Copy link

UPDATE: I just read this: pascallanger/DIY-Multiprotocol-TX-Module#393

The STM32 chips are not counterfeit, they are just the wrong chips. These boards use an STM32F103C8 with 64kb of flash ram instead of an STM32F103CB with 128kb of flash ram, These boards also use a NAND gate instead of an XOR gate which hoses telemetry.

@andika207
Copy link

@OldGazer STM32 is basically the processor @pascallanger
However the Cypress chips (DSMX protocol) that the MPM relies on have been out of production for several years and thus it’s highly probable that counterfeit chips are used.

@pascallanger
Copy link

To my knowledge there are no counterfeit cyrf components on the market like there is for the nrf. The production has stopped not so long ago and I've heard that radiomaster has purchased a huge stock to be able to continue to produce.

@andika207
Copy link

@pascallanger the Vantac or iRange lite modules are not made by RadioMaster that I know of.
further more, RadioMaster is not even legal to sell in Deutschland for a good reason @kilrah

@pascallanger
Copy link

Vantac is FrSky and these modules are using the wrong stm32 flash size.
IRange is an independent company. They are using the right stm32.
I have no idea how these 2 companies purchase cyrf components.

@andika207
Copy link

IRange is an independent company.

https://www.horusrc.com/en/modules/2-4ghz-module?product_list_limit=84
le boîtier est tellement identique parmis Vantac, iRange iRX4, URUAV TMX5, Darwin ELRS...etc que je n'ose pas à dire que chacun fabrique le sien...

Sry, question out of curiosity when I found this thread: I own a 60+ quadcopters fleet, mixed ACCST D16 v1.x and CRSF protocols on receivers. Looking at ELRS for new builds. Is there any chance the Tandem transmitter series can support all 3 protocols (using an external module expansion, of course)? Current Ethos implementation says ACCST 2.x only, and it does not clearly state whether ELRS is 'FrSky's proprietary ELRS flavor' or 'Standard ELRS implementation', plus I'm not sure about which protocol to put on the external module and which ones will be supported internally...

@jurajjurej Acknowledging that, but still no idea how to get all three protocols ACCST 1. X, CRSF and ELRS working with one external module and the internal module. It seems that ACCST 1.x is not supported by the internal module so it needs to go on the external module. Then again, CRSF needs to go on the internal module because no external module supports ACCST AND CRSF. And whatever the split will be, one of them needs to co-exist with ELRS... aaaargh it looks I'm doomed, can't see a solution other than swapping btw 2 dedicated external modules 🤔😭
