Fog is gray at night even when the moon phase color transition option is disabled

I turned off moon phase color transition option hoping the night would turn dark again but it's still gray regardless of the lunar phase.

dont know if the gray night is a feature but i think the night should be dark by default, or maybe adding a full moon color option would solve the problem.
