DJCook over at A1K reports:

Would like to report an issue with 40.5 Version of AT ROM driver. Have installed it on LAN IDE card:
there is no boot after keyboard reset - KS screen appears instead. Cold restart works as it should

Will acquire one of these cards and test

The system detects the drive and boots fine after keyboard reset. Also tried with a CD-ROM as slave and it worked fine.

@CCKMik lide.device needs data and bss sections to be loaded into RAM and cannot be run directly from ROM
I'm also not sure why it would be added to a kickstart, it needs to be loaded from an ide boards autoconfig ROM so that it is is copied to RAM by kick and so it knows which board to attach to

I'm wondering how to make a custom boot rom (with CDFS)
like there is in cd32 or cdtv to autoboot cd

Is this even possible ?

@CCKMik please try to not take over other, unrelated issues for your conversations.

life.device can be made to boot from CD-ROM. However while you can boot from your AmigaOS 3.2 CD that way, many/most CDTV/CD32 titles won't work because they need other infrastructure only available on those machines.
