The problems discussed here were indeed fixed, but after updating the repo there is a new one:
Error: The file "/vercel/path0/.next/routes-manifest.json" couldn't be found. This is often caused by a misconfiguration in your project.

I am adding some nice logging to indicate which config entries are missing (they go into the .env file).
