Partitions are working flawlessly in MPD latest version i.e. 0.23.12.
I have an alternative setup of homeassistant core, in which I have compiled the mpd v0.23.12 for debian bullseye. Partitions are working fine with this setup. But this setup is not my daily driver just for test purposes.
I was hoping you could fix the partition issue with your addon, also please update the addon with mpd 0.23.12.
Is it possible to replace the older executable version of mpd with the new one.

Then the partition is not supported because the version in the addon is too old. It will then be possible as soon as #384 is solved. This will be done when I find the time for it.
So this ticket is a duplicate.
The only option to change the executable is to build your own version of the addon.
So for support MPD needs to release a stable version including the partition section.
Until then the addon won't support this.
