Support for LIWC2015 #3
Comments
Hi! I don't have a copy of LIWC 2015, so I don't know. If the format is the same, but with different categories and match expressions, then it should work just fine, since none of that is hard-coded in this package, but if they use a different syntax, then probably not. |
Thank you. |
UPDATE I confirmed that the library still works with I just tested with my 2015 dictionary, and I see the following error. I'd like to know if the error can be solved with small changes: IndexError Traceback (most recent call last)
<ipython-input-2-fe14ed5dbb04> in <module>()
----> 1 parse, category_names = liwc.load_token_parser('./LIWC2015_English.dic')

77 trie = _build_trie(lexicon)
78 def parse_token(token):

I had to tweak the code slightly for the LIWC2015_English_Flat.dic file. Because some string patterns are now comprised of multiple words (e.g., "kind of"), the split function on line 19 of __init__.py needs to use "\t" as the argument to only split on tabs. Otherwise you end up with duplicate keys in the dictionary (e.g., "of") and a run-time error as a result. |
@keenemind Hi, I have changed the line 19 code in init.py in my python module path. but it does not work. Can you tell me more details? thx |
@kyoungrok0517 hi, have any solution? |
I have the same problem. I modified the KeyError Traceback (most recent call last)

Hi! First off, thanks to all of you for your interest and collaboration and helping each other out. I'm glad that people find this repo useful, but it's even more supportive and reassuring to see you guys helping fellow users diagnose and debug and work around the problems you encounter :) I just published Two caveats that still apply to this latest version:

does this package have LIWC 2019 version? |
Does this package work with LIWC 2015 dictionary?
