Hello @odiaconu, thanks for posting this discussion. I see that you're having difficulty reading GRIB2 data for the AIFS model properly into MET. Although I'm not actually familiar with AIFS myself, there's certainly no reason why MET shouldn't be able to handle its output. As you've already guessed, the likely culprit is just not having the metadata well-defined yet. MET reads GRIB2 metadata from files named And the grib2_ecmwf.txt file defines the metadata for ECMWF output. While we do frequently get user feedback about output from US-based models, we don't get much feedback about ECMWF data. So I'm really glad you reached out so we can improve our ECMWF support. While the Ideally, we'd be able to create a new So the big question is whether you ALREADY HAVE that table, perhaps formatted in a different way? If so, translating over for MET should be pretty straight-forward. If possible, please create a tar/zip file with a sample AIFS output file along with the GRIB2 table that should be used to interpret it. And then just attach that tar/zip file to this discussion. And then I can take a closer look. Thanks! |

I am using AIFS from ECMWF model for verification in MET- 12. I did not find suitable tables for parameters
from the AIFS model, I mean the precipitation parameter. How could I use an
equivalent table? or add the parameter to the initial table?
