The question has come up a couple of time when explaining JWTs to beginners. so its worth clarifying that JTWs are not encrypted, they are signed ...

I have answered that question very recently. I've used this website to help out a bit : https://securedb.co/community/jwt-vs-jws-vs-jwe/.

I'd love to help more on this... but am swamped for the next week and a bit and definitely won't have time before that... maybe then if this hasn't been done yet.
