Dear @yantosca,

I encountered problems when preparing to run the simulation. The issues are as follows:

(1) I am planning to conduct a full chemical simulation for one year to obtain the concentration of PM2.5. I would like to determine how long the spin-up process should be.

(2) I aim to simulate the PM2.5 concentration for the entire year of 2030. Therefore, when I set start_date: [20290701, 000000] and end_date: [20300101, 000000] to carry out a half-year spin-up, I discovered that I do not have the emission data for 2029 since the data is provided at ten-year intervals (e.g., 2020, 2030, 2040...). So, how should I proceed with the spin-up? This issue has perplexed me for a considerable period of time. I am earnestly anticipating your detailed reply, which will be of great assistance to me. I am extremely grateful.

(3) When conducting the spin-up, is it necessary for me to turn off GC_RESTART in HEMCO_Config.rc and then turn it on again during the formal simulation?

Thanks for writing @dyblove. We would recommend emailing the GEOS-Chem Chemistry and Climate Working Group listserv. Someone there would probably be able to give you the proper advice.
