Please make sure it can be reproduced on a fresh instance (with just port type changed); and provide inventory file(s) that can be used to reproduce.

Several persons (including me) have tested when your initial issue has been submitted, and we were not able to reproduce.

Thank you @trasher , I just replicated the issue with a brand new instance (Ubuntu 22.04, GLPI 10.0.17, Agent nightly build v1.12-git36fd2bb0).
If I can provide any files please let me know.

I guess we need inventory file(s) to replace your 2nd step.

I have created inventory files for switches on command line (xml), is the same possible for computers?

@GuidoWilden

OK I managed to generate an inventory file for a computer. Let me know if you need anything else.

And here once more as json.

Your issue is about NetworkEquipment related inventory, not computer

@GuidoWilden

OK here is the inventory file for the switch the computer is connected to. But as mentioned in the initial issue: the port on the computer side changes from a network port to a hub (#17205 (comment)).

And here once more as json.

computer_0_2.json.zip

There is no network port in that inventory file.

Anyway, I still do not see issue.
I first enable import of type 161 and set it as aggregated port. Here is the port after computer inventory

And after network equipment has been added:

Everything seems OK so far.

GuidoWilden commented Jan 13, 2025

Not what I am seeing. I get this with type 161 disabled.
Image

I then enable port type 161 set Import to Yes and Instanciation type to Aggregation port, run a network scan via the toolbox and I get

Image

So unfortunately not OK on this new instance I built from scratch last week.

So I did a little more digging and there is one thing that may or may not contribute here. This might be a long shot but let me try and explain.
On the server we do have two Entities, the Root Entity and one Sub Entity. This is put in place in case the company opens up another office in future.

Image

When I navigate to the Sub Entity like so:

Image

The Setup > Dropdowns > Networking > Network port types is empty. I have to select the Network port types entry while sat in the Root Entity if that makes sense.
All of our assets, however, live in the Sub Entity.
