We moved from the Bywaters carousel to the InLibro one due to the much better accessibility when we recently upgraded from Koha 20.11 to 21.11. In testing we were using an older version and noticed the change from suivant & précédent to the English forms and raised this with our support company PTFS Europe. They upgraded us to 4.0.5 and now we see accessibility problems:
"the chevrons don't respond to keyboard access
the buttons are not labelled like other buttons in the Koha OPAC
the screen reader reads the buttons as Greater button and Less button
the buttons don't have a lot of keyboard on-focus visibility but this is probably within the regulations. Just not as nice as the other buttons".
I'd appreciate your comments.

We have started working on this issue. If we understand the problems:

  • We must change the labels to 1) follow Koha standards and 2) make sense (replace Greater and Less by meaningful descriptions). Translatable ones, of course.
  • Change the on-focus css to be more visible.

Did we get that right ?

Those changes would indeed be a great help, yes. I have also emailed your Caroline Cyr La Rose including some more comments and also a screen cast showing a strange piece of behaviour. As I said to Caroline I hope the problems are not caused by our level of OPAC customisation.

Hello Raymund,
I realized we haven't closed this issue. Have you tried the latest version? I asked Caroline and she said it should be fixed now.
