I'd be happy to help out. I'm actively using this package and have been advertising it to others as a better-maintained alternative to https://github.com/keflavich/plfit. |

I just started using the package and I’m not deeply immersed in the statistics of power law tails, but I’m willing to contribute as well.

Hi Jeff
I'm probably not the best person to take over since I haven't used powerlaw
in several years. I moved to other research topics now but it was very
useful for the work I have done for my PhD thesis. Thanks for writing and
sharing it.
Cheers
Achille

Hello powerlaw users and lovers,
I wrote powerlaw approximately a million years ago, but people are still
using it and writing pull requests for meaningful improvements. This is
great! However, I have not been able to seriously maintain the software for
several years, and so I am a bottleneck for users and contributors doing
great things with powerlaw. I am looking for for one or more people to
take over running the show. At a technical level, I need to somehow hand
the keys off to:
1. Pypi updates. Currently I am the sole owner of the Pypi home for
powerlaw, and that needs to be expanded.
2. Git updates. The community needs to know to make updates to a
specific repo that is widely used.
I will be listening for volunteers through the end of this calendar year
(13 days). At that point I'll select some subset of people to add in.
Many thanks!
Jeff
P.S. Flagging everyone who has made a pull request to powerlaw. Thank you
for your work and contributions!

Thank you Jeff for this great library and thanks to @keflavich<https://github.com/keflavich> and @hjs2s<https://github.com/hjs2s> to volunteer to help out!
I think Pypi is still the best place to host python packages. For a package that I maintain we have automated the process of publishing the package to github. So whenever we create a new release it gets automatically shipped to pypi using a github action: https://github.com/marketplace/actions/pypi-publish
I won’t be able to actively maintain the powerlaw package in terms of content but I am happy to help/assist/consult to setup github actions for publishing or testing (continuous integration) if you want.
Best,
Henry

Thanks to @keflavich<https://github.com/keflavich> and @hjs2s<https://github.com/hjs2s> for stepping forward!
* PyPI
* I have invited "keflavich" as a Maintainer, which I assume is @keflavich<https://github.com/keflavich>. There is no "hjs2s" to invite; @hjs2s<https://github.com/hjs2s> if you make an account under whatever name I will invite you as a Maintainer as well.
* The PyPI version is a little behind the Github version, so it needs to be updated.
* I confess I do not know if PyPI is still the best place to host Python packages. If you've another system to do instead or in addition, go nuts!
* Github
* I have no experience with co-maintaining a repo on Github, including the IT of access controls or the best practices.
* I have invited @keflavich<https://github.com/keflavich> and @hjs2s<https://github.com/hjs2s> as Collaborators. I do not know what this does.
* If you've another system to do instead or in addition, go nuts!
