Is there support for remark plugins? #778

I want to integrate plantUML diagrams and use a plugin such as this one https://github.com/akebifiky/remark-simple-plantuml

But it is not clear to me if this is possible. This comment seems to allude to the possibility but I cannot find any documentation on this
