I've posted this on other support channels but haven't received any help.

Currently your APIs for things are broken - a PATCH to the 'description' of any thing sets the description to null, with no way to restore the value. This is a huge bug and causing a huge issue when running a bulk upgrade script (EVERY description on all my things was wiped away)
