View zooms in and out rapidly when in hazmat + radiated chunk + fire reduction item #8302

That sounds like an issue on your "item that provides fire damage reduction" rather than Mekanism |
Except that it works fine in their mod? Does Mekanism not treat radiation
as fire damage, under the hood?

Alright, well, if i remove the mekanism hazmat suit, the problem goes
away. So i guess i'll just never wear the mekanism radiation suit? I find
a common trait among many mod builders when having a problem is "it's the
other guy's fault" rather than investigating the problem.

What if you remove the fire protection item? A common trait with users is that they think they know better than experienced developers. |
sure, and i'm an experienced developer. i understand you get tons of
issues that go nowhere, and tons more than that aren't bugs, an even
further those that are just complaints. and you have no way of knowing who
i am or what i say has even the slightest relevance. Removing the fire
protection item solves the problem as well. I can add a different item
that offers fire protection that performs the same bug in mekanism. From a
different mod. If it makes you feel better ,i put the same issue into
apotheosis's item tracker for them to look at. However, unlike you, their
immediate response wasn't "sounds like a problem in someone else's mod"

(you see how that kind of comment really doesn't help?)

Seriously, why the hell are you arguing about this? I didn't close the issue. The fact remains
What does a Dosimeter say that your player's exposure is? |
I'm only commenting on your approach. It seems a little abrupt.
my player's exposure is 99 millisieverts. The effect, whatever it is, only
applies when the suit is on, and only begins when I enter a radiated chunk
while wearing a fire reduction item and the suit. If i'm wearing the suit
and the item around normally, nothing happens. After I leave the chunk,
the only thing that removes the effect is removing the suit. Removing the
item from then on does nothing.

The fact remains
- Radiation is NOT fire damage
- It's not even a (potion) effect as the view zoom implies
- With a full hazmat on *you will not even be given the radiation
damage*
What does a Dosimeter say that your player's exposure is?

if you have the inventory screen open does it show any potion effects? |
Issue description
when wearing an apotheosis statted item that provides fire damage reduction and a hazmat suit in a radiated chunk, the view very quickly zooms in and out as if some effect is being applied and removed constantly. for reference the item in question was a rage glove from the relics mod, with 2% fire damage reduction.
visual effect stops the instant the glove is removed from the curios menu
Steps to reproduce
I'd be happy to provide a short clip if you like, i don't think screenshots will really do it justice.

1.21.1 (Latest)
NeoForge version
forge: 47.3.22
Mekanism version
