Can't install Kali-Linux on Server 2022 #12447

0.0.0.0

Repro Steps

wsl --install
wsl --install -d kali-linux

and

wsl --update

Expected Behavior

I just want to see kali-linux installed and running

Actual Behavior

wsl --install seems works fine, it just reminds me to install a distribution

wsl --install -d kali-linux
Installing: Kali Linux Rolling
An error occurred during installation. Distribution Name: 'Kali Linux Rolling' Error Code: 0x8000ffff

wsl --update
Forbidden (403).

Invoke-WebRequest -UseBasicParsing "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/microsoft/WSL/master/diagnostics/collect-wsl-logs.ps1" -OutFile collect-wsl-logs.ps1
Set-ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Scope Process -Force
.\collect-wsl-logs.ps1

The script will output the path of the log file once done.

If this is a networking issue, please use collect-networking-logs.ps1, following the instructions here

Once completed please upload the output files to this Github issue.
