If I want to select and delete text at the end of an address in Firefox (or the file browser Nemo, or whatever), I can click and drag with the mouse - but I click at the end of the text and drag left to select, it will only select when the mouse cursor stays above the text. If the cursor goes below the line, then it won't select anything. (This is because it is trying to select non-existent stuff to the right of the cursor and onto the next non-existent line.)
I think it's just a bit fiddly and annoying. In my view, when there is only one line of text, such as an address bar, it shouldn't matter if the cursor is above or below the line. The selection should just happen in the same direction as the cursor without having to imagine it jumping to some new line that doesn't exist.
Current behaviour:
If I click and drag to highlight text from the end of an address bar, pulling the mouse left to highlight the text. If the cursor is below the text, then no text gets selected. (It only selects if the cursor is on or above the line.)
Suggested behaviour:
In single-line text fields, dragging to the left should select the text on the left regardless of the y-position of the cursor.
