Why does the game take a crazy amout of time to open the first time after a system reboot?

Sometimes it takes upwards of 1 to 2 minutes before it opens for me initially, after that its only a couple of seconds to open.

Not sure if it helps to answer the question but i have a lot of maps downloaded (91.096 to be exact) and i've head there's some issues with realm when the game has too many maps.

I'm wondering if this is windows security related, or some other virus scanner on your system. Can you confirm this happens on every startup? I noticed in your logs that there were actually many files being deleted on startup due to you deleting beatmaps in the previous session. If possible could you:

• Start osu! (make sure it starts fast)
• Do nothing
• Restart PC
• Start osu! and confirm it's still slow

Windows defender is the only anti virus software i have on my pc.

Anyways i did as you said. This time it wasn't as slow as the previous reboot that took like 5 min to start, but its around the time of the example i mentioned on the original post, which is about 1 min or so.

Are you on a spinning disk? Have you done a disk check recently?

The game is on one of my hard drives. It's still on good health. I do regular checkups using chkdsk and crystal disk mark. No issues outside of the regular slower nature of a spinning disk.

Try disk defrag ( windows tool, if you using hdd. )
