So, I guess not much in terms of design, unless you are worried about Greek or Cyrillic, and even that is just a refinement, but it seems to provide an important expansion to glyph coverage. I guess it should just work with the same settings for Minion Pro? Maybe? |
Interesting. Unfortunately, I do not have this version available. As a first guess, I would hope it to work for what is supported at the moment out of the box. |
I took the otf files from the Minion 3 font from my Creative Cloud subscription (still called TypeKit, I guess?) and renamed those to have the proper names MinionPro-Bold.otf, MinionPro-BoldIt.otf, MinionPro-It.otf, MinionPro-Medium.otf, MinionPro-MediumIt.otf, MinionPro-Regular.otf, MinionPro-Semibold.otf, MinionPro-SemiboldIt.otf. After throwing those into FontPro/otf, I ran:
While the latest version of the old Minion font obtained from TypeKit identifies as version 2.115, Minion 3 obviously restarted version numbering at 1.x. That said, I think that MinionPro identifies the wrong version of the font. Can anyone confirm? |
