This is actually a pretty big potential issue. Who owns the copyright of this work? It will fall under software IP rules, which is different from traditional research output rules, and I don't know the details of Denmark's laws about that. How does it work if we are funded by an external funder to produce this, but employed at AU? Does NNF own it then?

Contacted TTO (Tommy) and AU owns the copyright regardless of funding source. They also said commercialization regarding support and training isn't an issue as long as it isn't commercializing the software itself. As for licensing, we would need to get a signature/confirmation from the "Head of Department" (I guess at Clin?).
This has been solved, Clin Med has signed a letter agreeing to using an open source license to software. Letter can be found in the steno-aarhus google drive.
