Cannot install Windows Update 24H2 #4120

Before reporting your issue

  • I have confirmed that this issue does not happen when ExplorerPatcher is not installed
  • I do not have "register as shell extension" enabled
  • I have tried my best to check existing issues

Repro ExplorerPatcher versions

Version 22621.4317.67.1

Repro Windows Versions

3rd party tweak software installed

Nothing installed

Describe the bug

  1. Download Windows-Update (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/inside-this-update-93c5c27c-f96e-43c2-a08e-5812d92f220d?OCID=WUSettings)
  2. Install Windows-Update

Expected outcome

  1. The Windows update has been installed correctly.

Actual outcome

  1. The Windows update returns an error message stating that the installation cannot be continued due to the Explorer Patcher.

Uninstall ExplorerPatcher and update your OS, then install the latest EP build.

@Lyhtande Open file explorer and go to:
C:\Program FIles\ExplorerPatcher
and rename ep_dwm.exe
and it should let you update without uninstalling and reinstalling ExplorerPatcher
