I don't really understand your questions really, adding a highspeed interface to support longer camera cable for deployment? I have build some GMSL2 board for that already. Adding highspeed interface for RPI5? Just go with 10GBE. Both of them does not remotely related to RP1 in anyway, so I'm really confused about your questions. |

The RP1 IO allows high speed interfaces to peripheral devices https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/microcontrollers/rp1.html
Potentially adding an interface with USB 4 / Thunderbolt connection to a camera will allow longer distance cables than possible with MIPI CSI, and much higher data rates, where the RP5 is mostly just enabling the camera to record, but unlikely to process much. We are looking at the options and designing a generic solution, which is how I ran across these projects. Thoughts?
