Overview

You can create your own game lists for use with IAGL by choosing your favorite games individually, using the robust search function to create an automatic listing of games matching your criteria, or use the random function to create an automatic listing of random games matching your criteria.

Create a Favorites List

  1. Bring up the context menu for the desired game (by pressing C on your keyboard, or right clicking with your mouse)

  2. Select "Add to IAGL Favorites"

  3. Follow the prompts to either create a new grouping, or add the game to an existing group.

Thats it! Favorited games will show up in the IAGL favorites section available on the addon front page.

In addition to adding single games to a favorites list. You can generate an automatic listing of games using the IAGL Search Function.

  2. Enter the criteria to search for.

You can create lists using the following criteria:

  • Game Lists: Select one or more specfic game lists the game will be in
  • Game Titles: Enter a full or partial name of a game. Wildcards are also allowed. Use % to match any number of characters and _ to match any one character.
  • Game Genre: Examples: Fighting, Action, Adventure, RPG
  • Number of Players. Example: 1-2 Players Co-Op
  • Studio: The studio that produced the game. Example: Capcom
  • Tag: For example if you selected the tag USA, the search function would include Mario (USA) and exclude Mario (Japan)
  • Playlist: The playlist that the game is in. Examples: 1G1R playlist, "Best Of" playlist, etc.
  • Region: The region the game is from. Examples: USA, World, Japan
  • Language: The language the game is in. Exmaples: English, German
  • The Edition grouping of the Game: Example: Super Special Edition
  • Code: The codes included in the game tag. Example [Hack by XYZ]
  • Rating: The rating of the game (out of 5 Stars). Example: Only 4 - 5's.

As an example, I've created a listing of all games with the containing Sonic in the Title (Game Titles=%sonic%) are USA region and in the 1G1R Playlist to create a custom list of games:

In addition, I can save this search query as a custom listing by selecting Create Search Link at the bottom of the Search Function page. This will generate a list item that I can "Add to IAGL Favorites" containing the search query.

  1. Browse to the Random Play Function from the IAGL home page
  2. Enter the criteria to search for. Same as criteria Search Function above
  3. Choose the number of Random Games to return

As an example, I've created an arcade listing of fighting games (Game List=FBNeo - Arcade, MAME 2003+, Number of Results=50, Genres=Fighter, Fighting, Fighter Scrolling) and saved it to my favorites grouping. Note the results are different every time you browse to the list:
